Chelsea defender Genesis Antwi has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, with the highly-rated youngster set to continue his development in France during the 2026/27 season.
The 19-year-old, who joined Chelsea’s academy at the age of 16, is regarded as one of the club’s brightest defensive prospects. He made his senior debut in January 2025, starting in Chelsea’s FA Cup third-round victory over Morecambe, and has since been a regular for the club’s U21 side.
Primarily a centre-back, Antwi is known for his composure in possession, strong aerial ability and defensive intelligence. The loan move is expected to provide him with valuable first-team experience in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Born in Stockholm to Ghanaian parents before moving to England at the age of seven, Genesis Kofi Koranteng Antwi is eligible to represent Sweden, Ghana or England internationally. He has featured for England’s U16s and currently represents Sweden’s U21 national team, although he remains eligible to switch allegiance to the Black Stars.
