Former Chairman of the GFA, Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has asked Otto Addo to include Asamoah Gyan in his squad list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Gyan in the last few months hinted at his desire to return to the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup despite not playing for the team since 2019. He revealed this in an interview on BBC.
“Talent wise, everything is there already, so I just have to prepare physically,” he told the BBC World Service.
“The World Cup is every footballer’s dream. I think I’ve got a bit of energy left in me to prove myself once again.
“I’ve been out for almost two years now due to injuries but I just need to get my body back in shape. It’s an eight-week programme and according to my physical instructor I’m improving faster than he thought.
“Then I must see how my body reacts to playing competitive football.”
Tamakloe believes Gyan can be trusted and should be called.
“I still insist we take Asamoah Gyan to the World Cup. We could give him 10 to 15 minutes of playing time each time because I think he can change games. He is one person I can trust,” Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe told Angel TV in an interview.
Ghana have been drawn in Group H against Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
