Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has likened the talent at his disposal to a diamond that needs to be polished before it can shine.
Speaking after their 2024 Homowo Cup victory over Heart of Lions, Ouattara believes that the club’s new signings have the potential to deliver results.
The Ivorian trainer, who has been busy in the transfer market, is optimistic about the team’s chances in the upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Despite only a few players from his starting lineup against Heart of Lions being part of his squad last season, Ouattara remains confident that his team can deliver.
“These boys already have the talent. Now we want to perform. Give them some work on the physical and psychological sides to get the results,” Ouattara said. “It’s not easy, but the talent is there. It’s like a diamond. When we take the diamond, we polish it before we sell it.”
The Rainbow lads will be looking to improve on their 14th position finish in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, where they narrowly avoided relegation.
