Ibrahim Tanko has expressed strong confidence that Medeama SC will recover quickly and push on with determination despite losing their top position in the Ghana Premier League.
The Tarkwa-based side slipped from first place following a 2-1 defeat to Dreams FC at the Tuba Astroturf on matchday 26, a result that allowed Bibiani GoldStars to move ahead in the standings.
Reacting to the defeat, Tanko stressed that the title race remains wide open, with eight matches still to be played. He emphasized the need for focus, hard work, and a strong mentality as his team prepares for the remaining fixtures.
According to him, Medeama will approach each of their upcoming games with renewed energy and a clear objective of securing maximum points.
Tanko admitted that his side’s slow start proved costly, as Dreams FC dominated the early stages of the game. Although Medeama improved after the break and managed to pull one back with a well-taken goal, they were unable to overturn the deficit.
Despite the setback, the Medeama coach remains optimistic, insisting that his team is still firmly in contention and must respond with resilience in the crucial final phase of the season.
