Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey has received two nominations for the Premier League Goal of the Month award for his impressive strikes in December.
Lamptey capped off the year in stunning fashion, scoring a thunderous goal to secure a point for Brighton & Hove Albion in their thrilling 2-2 draw against Aston Villa. Additionally, his spectacular volley in the 2-2 stalemate against Leicester City further cemented his place among December’s best goals.
The Brighton full-back faces stiff competition for the award, with nominees including Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Manchester United’s Amad Diallo. Also in contention are Enes Unal’s sublime free-kick for Bournemouth against West Ham, Matheus Cunha’s Olimpico goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Manchester United, and Chris Wood’s audacious lob for Nottingham Forest against Everton.
Lamptey, 24, has been enjoying a strong season, bouncing back from a slow start to reclaim a spot in Brighton’s starting lineup. The Ghanaian international has scored twice and provided two assists in just seven Premier League appearances so far this season.
