Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey returned to the pitch for the first time in over five months after featuring in Brighton and Hove Albion’s pre-season game against Newcastle United.
Lamptey was on for the last 10 minutes of the game in the encounter, replacing Jan Paul van Hecke.
Though Brighton went on to surrender their 1-0 lead, it was the return of the right-back that caught the attention of many.
Lamptey had not played for the club since the 4-0 win over West Ham United in March during the 2022/23 Premier League season.
The player had been out with an injury and only returned to team training earlier this month to join his teammates for pre-season ahead of the new season.
The defender will be hoping to stay fit with Brighton set to playing the UEFA Europa League this season.
