Asante Kotoko’s National Circle’s Council- NCC boss Christopher Damenya, has lashed out at the Ghana Football, urging them to talk to m referees to desist from ‘cheating’ the club.
Referee Abdullai Ibrahim awarded what had been described as controversial penalty against the Porcupine Warriors which aided the bottom club side Elmina Sharks to victory.
Reacting to the referee’s performance, Damenya said Kotoko particularly this season have suffered bad officiating, something he claims isn’t helping the club.
“The ‘foolishness’ in Ghana football must stop. People are influencing games negatively against Kotoko which is bad. Clubs can’t compete so well in Africa if we don’t get deserving winners for our league” he told Oyerepa FM.
The Porcupine Warriors haven’t won title Ghana Premier League title after 8 years and are hoping to end the eight years trophy drought.
Out of the fifteen games Asante Kotoko have played this season, they have suffered only two defeats.
Kotoko will host the struggling Accra Lions football club at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend.
