In the wake of recent tournament letdowns, including subpar performances in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 Mundial, coupled with an early exit in the 33rd AFCON in Ivory Coast, Black Stars fans have voiced widespread discontent.
Ameenu Shardow, the team manager, assured supporters of ongoing efforts to rejuvenate and revitalize the national squad.
“The national team has gone through a lot, and we are all not happy about the results. We have to improve,” he stated in an interview with Citi Sports.
Despite the setbacks, Shardow urged patience and backing from fans, underscoring the Ghana Football Association’s unwavering dedication to restoring the team’s former glory.
“The Ghana Football Association is working tirelessly to restore the lost glory and aura around the team,” he affirmed.
Looking ahead, Shardow expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, noting preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
