Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has praised Bournemouth’s stunning 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, describing it as a “crazy performance.”
The Cherries delivered an exceptional display on Saturday, with Justin Kluivert stealing the show with a hat-trick and Milos Kerkez adding another goal to seal the emphatic win. Semenyo also played a key role, providing the assist for one of Kluivert’s goals.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Semenyo reflected on Bournemouth’s tactical execution and their impressive unbeaten run:
“It was a crazy performance from us,” he remarked. “We just knew we needed to get the press right, and if we did, we’d get opportunities. As you saw from a couple of the goals, we got the press right and secured the three points.”
The forward also explained the game plan that disrupted Newcastle’s defence:
“We knew they had moments when they’d keep it at the back, and we wanted to catch out the back four. As soon as the goalkeeper passed to the centre-back, that was our trigger to go, and it worked out perfectly.”
Bournemouth’s victory not only highlights their tactical discipline but also their determination to challenge some of the Premier League’s top teams. With performances like this, the Cherries continue to make a strong statement this season.
