Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo continued his impressive form with another goal contribution as AFC Bournemouth secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Semenyo, who has netted six Premier League goals this season, added to his tally of contributions by providing a key assist in the match, helping Andoni Iraola’s side climb to sixth in the league standings.
The Black Stars forward set up the opening goal with a precise cut-back pass to Justin Kluivert, who calmly slotted it past the Newcastle goalkeeper. However, the hosts equalized midway through the first half, courtesy of a powerful header from Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães that Kepa Arrizabalaga couldn’t stop.
Bournemouth regained the lead just before halftime when Kluivert converted a pass from Dango Ouattara. After the break, Kluivert completed his hat-trick, marking his second of the season, before Milos Kerkez sealed the emphatic win with a goal in injury time.
Semenyo’s consistent performances have been instrumental for the Cherries this season. In 20 appearances, he has scored six goals and provided three assists, establishing himself as a key player in Bournemouth’s push up the Premier League table.
