Desmond Ofei, the head coach of Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, has indicated that he feels no pressure as he gears up for the 2023 African Games.
Appointed to lead the team in September 2023, Ofei will be taking charge of his first major tournament since assuming the role, with the African Games being the maiden assignment for the 35-year-old.
Ghana is set to kick off their campaign against Congo in the opening match of Group A on Friday, March 8.
Expressing confidence in his team’s readiness for the competition, Ofei emphasized, “No, there is no pressure. We are fully prepared. We have a good squad. Our boys are ready and hungry. We don’t feel any pressure; not at all.”
The Black Satellites aim to improve upon their performance in the previous edition in 2019, where they failed to advance beyond the group stage.
