Kuffour Asamoah, a defender for Ghana’s U20 national team, the Black Satellites, has expressed confidence that they will emerge victorious in the 2023 African Games football competition.
Ghana is set to kick off their campaign against Congo at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon in their Group A opener.
During a pre-game press conference on Thursday, Asamoah made a bold declaration about the team’s aspirations for the tournament.
“Many people outside are waiting for this opportunity and we’ve been selected, we are much grateful for this opportunity,” stated the Berekum Chelsea player. “We are going to deliver and bring out the best in us. We are going for the trophy.”
Reflecting on Ghana’s performance in the previous edition in 2019, where they failed to advance from the group stage, Asamoah’s declaration underscores the team’s determination to secure success in the upcoming tournament.
