Former Egyptian striker Hossam Hassan replaced Rui Victoria as the head coach of the Pharaohs after the disappointing 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
His reign got underway in March with a 1-0 victory over New Zealand and a 2-4 defeat to Croatia in the international friendly window.
Egypt played both games without Salah and many thought it was due to a disagreement between the Liverpool star and the new head coach Hossam Hassan but Mohammed Salah was then not fully fit.
Speaking to the press, the head coach denied any rift between the two.
“Mohamed Salah is one of the best players in the world ever, which is an indisputable fact. There is no rift between me and him. We communicate with him normally,” said Hossam Hassan.
The 57-year-old Pharoahs head coach is expected to include Mohammed Salah in his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau in June.
