Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, expressed his disappointment with his team’s performance following their goalless draw against Aduana Stars on Friday night in a Week 5 clash of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians created numerous goal-scoring opportunities during the 90 minutes but were unable to break down an Aduana Stars side that ended the match with ten men after defender Rich Sackey was sent off.
In his post-match interview, Coach Ouattara didn’t hold back his frustration, criticizing his players for failing to meet his expectations and perform at their usual level.
“I’ve been telling them during training that this match would not be easy for us. They shouldn’t think it will be. Seriously, I’m disappointed. This is not how we play. We played badly today. The boys put pressure on themselves because they think everything is easy in football,” said the Hearts of Oak boss.
Despite his disappointment, Coach Ouattara quickly shifted focus, urging his team to learn from the draw and move forward. He emphasized that Hearts of Oak would review the game against Aduana Stars and work on correcting their mistakes ahead of their next fixture.
The Phobians will now turn their attention to their upcoming match against Young Apostles, where they will be aiming to bounce back with a win.
