Emmanuel Nettey, a former midfielder of Hearts of Oak, has shared his reaction to the club’s devastating loss against Medeama in week 31 of the Ghana Premier League.
In a stunning performance, Medeama overpowered the esteemed Premier League giants at the Accra Sports Stadium, propelling themselves to the top of the league standings, surpassing Aduana.
The Tarkwa-based club secured an impressive 5-1 victory over the Phobians after 31 matches played.
Medeama took the lead in the 17th minute with a goal from Derrick Fordjour, but Hearts of Oak managed to equalize through a Salifu Ibrahim penalty kick in the 31st minute.
However, the visitors swiftly added two more goals through Vincent Atinga and Jonathan Sowah, ending the first half with a commanding 3-1 lead.
In the second half, Jonathan Sowah and Kwesi Donsu further extended Medeama’s lead, sealing a comfortable 5-1 triumph.
Expressing his disappointment, Nettey took to Twitter and wrote, “This is not our Hearts of Oak,” accompanied by a heartbreak emoji.
