Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to be fit for Arsenal as they take on Tottenham in the North London Derby during the weekend.
At international duty with the Black Stars, he was pulled out of the squad during warmup as a result of a suspected knee injury and has returned to London early due to the fact that he is not expected to play a part against Nicaragua.
“Thomas Partey has been granted permission to travel back to London for further assessment after picking up a suspected knee injury on Friday minutes before the international friendly against Brazil,” a statement from the GFA read.
Partey’s injury is deemed to be not serious and is aiming to work his way back to full fitness and play for the club in the all-important tie during the weekend.
The 29-year-old has struggled with various injuries in his Arsenal career.
