Arsenal’s deputy captain for the Black Stars, Thomas Partey, has commenced light training with the English Premiership club, Arsenal, according to manager Mikel Arteta.

Arteta provided an update on Partey’s recovery, stating that the Ghanaian midfielder is progressing well in training and nearing a return to action.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming fixture against Burnley on Saturday, February 17, 2024, Arteta confirmed Partey’s positive progress, expressing optimism about his return to the pitch.

“There are no big setbacks. Thomas Partey is progressing really well,” Arteta said. “It’s looking very good, and he’s on the field already.”

Partey had suffered a setback in his recovery from a muscle injury shortly after returning to training. Although he was expected to make his comeback against Nottingham Forest, the setback ruled him out of the game.

Since the start of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, Partey has featured in just four games for Arsenal. His last appearance for the Gunners was in October 2023, playing 15 minutes in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
