Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will not feature for Al-Shabab in their next two Saudi Pro League matches against Al-Kholood and Al-Fayha, as the club prioritises his full recovery.
Partey is currently undergoing intensive, specialised training sessions under the supervision of the club’s fitness coach, with the programme designed to help him regain his optimal physical condition.
Al-Shabab have taken the decision to keep the experienced midfielder out of the upcoming fixtures rather than rush him back into competitive action.
The club’s approach is aimed at ensuring that Partey completes his recovery properly and returns when he is fully prepared to handle the demands of regular first-team football.
The Ghana international joined Al-Shabab after a long career in European football, bringing considerable experience from his spells with Atlético Madrid, Arsenal and Villarreal.
His absence from the next two matches means Al-Shabab will have to cope without his experience in midfield, but the club appears determined to take a cautious approach and avoid any setback in his recovery.
For Partey, the immediate focus remains on his fitness work and building himself back to full strength before making his return to competitive action.
