Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac has tipped Arsenal star Thomas Partey to win the Most Valuable Player (player) of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations despite a poor show against Morocco.
The 2010 Africa Cup of Nations losing finalist coach from Serbia, Milovan Rajevac believes in the midfielder and thinks he can emerge as the player of the tournament.
The former Atletico Madrid came under a lot of heavy criticism for not performing up to his maximum best as Ghana lost 1-0 to Morocco in their group C opener.
The 27-year-old versatile midfielder according to Ghanaian fans was culpable for looking unconcerned as Sofiane Boufal smashed in Morocco’s winner.
“We analysed the match, Thomas maybe this match performance was not at his level but he’s a great player and will prove critics wrong, I think he will be the best in this tournament,” said the Serbian trainer ahead of the Gabon game on Friday.
The Black Stars need to Aubameyang led Gabon team to enhance their chances of progressing to the last 16 of the tournament when they clash on Friday evening.
