Genk and Ghana forward, Joseph Paintsil is attracting interest from Premier League and European clubs following his impressive performance in helping his team top the Belgian Pro League.
According to English tabloid The Telegraph, Brentford, Fulham, and Brighton have all sent scouts to observe the Ghanaian international this season and have been impressed with his involvement in a total of 28 goals during the campaign.
For clubs that utilize stats-based scouting, The Ghanaian international has been a standout performer, having contributed 14 goals and 14 assists during the regular season, with the playoffs still to come.
His remarkable goals-and-assist contribution has made him the most productive African player in Europe this season, with two more contributions than Napoli striker Victor Osimhen (21 and 4) and ahead of Mohamed Salah in the table. Paintsil’s versatility to play on the right and in a central role has caught the attention of clubs.
He was signed by Genk from Ghanaian club Tema Youth following a successful loan spell at Ferencváros in Hungary, and his performances have increased his value to over £10 million, attracting the attention of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
