Ajax and Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus is likely to miss out on the Ajax Player of the Season award to Steven Berghuis, who has been the preferred choice among fans.
Despite Kudus’ impressive performance this season with 18 goals and five assists across all competitions, Berghuis has garnered the most votes from Ajax supporters through the supporters association’s website.
As per Ajax Life, Berghuis holds a significant lead over his competitors and cannot be overtaken, even with four league games remaining.
Berghuis has accumulated 47 points, followed by Kudus with 30 points, Edson Álvarez with 27 points, Steven Bergwijn, and Davy Klaassen.
Berghuis, who has played in 28 Eredivisie games this season, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists, has won the Ajax Player of the Year award for the first time. Last season, he finished second to Lisandro Martínez in his debut season at the club.
Kudus, who is presently recovering from an injury, has been linked with a transfer away from Ajax in the summer.
