After his departure from Schalke 04, Ghanaian attacking midfielder Daniel Kankam Kyerewaa has attracted interest from three German clubs.
Kyerewaa, aged 21, showcased his skills and talent while playing for Schalke’s second team in the Regionalliga League, impressively scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 32 games. He has now declined a contract extension offer from Schalke and seeks to join a Bundesliga 2 club.
Having expressed his readiness to compete at a higher level, Kyerewaa reached an agreement with Schalke’s management to part ways as his contract expires on June 30, 2023.
Although the specific club he will join remains undisclosed, Dusseldorf, Hamburg SV, and Greuther Furth have all shown keen interest in securing his services.
Prior to his time with Schalke, the midfielder started his football journey in the youth team at SG Unterrath. In 2016, he made the move to Fortuna Düsseldorf, progressing through their U17s and U19s before joining the Royal Blues.
