Former Ghana U-20 player Patrick Kpozo has been presented an opportunity to shine bright like a star following the injuries to Baba Abdul Rahman and Gideon Mensah.
The left-back has been given the opportunity to dazzle in the Ghana colours and make a name for himself at the left-back position in the game against Madagascar.
Kpozo was called for Ghana duties for the first time in March by head coach Chris Hughton in the home and away encounter against the Pelangras Negras of Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He didn’t get the opportunity to start for the Stars in both games as Gideon Mensah was preferred to him by the technical handlers of the senior national team.
With Baba Rahman not being called up for the game against the minnows away from home, the former Inter Allies FC player was handed his second call-up by the coaches.
Unfortunately for Ghana and fortunately for the defender, the other left-back Gideon Mensah has picked up a fresh injury which will keep him out of the team for the match.
The FC Sheriff Tiraspol defender is the only left-back left at camp and could be his time to shine in Ghana jersey at the senior level on June 18 in Antananarivo against Madagascar.
He won all trophies domestically with the Yellow and Blacks outfit this season and also played against the likes of Manchester United FC in the UEFA Europa League.
