In a preparation match for the upcoming CAF Inter-club competitions, Medeama Sporting Club, the champions from Ghana, suffered a narrow defeat against ASKO de Kara, the champions from Togo, at the Glow Lamp Academy Park in Abreshia, Cape Coast, on Friday.
During the first half, Medeama SC managed to hold their ground, resulting in a goalless draw. However, ASKO de Kara gained momentum in the second half and secured a lone goal to clinch the victory.
This marks the second consecutive loss for the Mauve and Yellow team in friendly matches, following their previous defeat against Nations Football Club. Nations FC defeated Medeama 3-2 the day before the loss to ASKO de Kara.
Looking ahead, Medeama is gearing up to face Nigeria’s Remo Stars on August 18, 2023, in the first leg of the CAF Champions League Preliminary stage, which will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium.
