At the Stade TP Mazbe in Lubumbashi, TP Mazembe massacred Egyptian side Pyramids 3-0 to secure a place in the quarter-finals. Goals from Joel Beya and Glody Likonza ensured that the Congolese side would end the first half with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Patient Mwamba rounded off an incredible afternoon for TP Mazembe by scoring the third in the 92nd minute.

What a sweet revenge for the Congolese side who lost 1-0 in Egypt on the opening day of the CCL.

Pyramids have been eliminated while TP Mazembe is through to the quarter-finals.

In Botswana, Wydad Casablanca also revenged the shocking 1-0 defeat they suffered against Jwaneng Galaxy in Morocco.

26-year-old Moroccan defender Badr Gaddarine scored the only goal on the stroke of halftime for the Moroccans.

Thabang Sesinyi, who was the hero in Morocco for Jwaneng Galaxy missed a crucial penalty in the 55th minute for the home side.

The win means Wydad must beat Asec in Morocco and Jwaneng Galaxy must beat Simba in Tanzania on the last matchday to qualify. Simba needs to beat Jwaneng at home to end Wydad’s journey.
