Newcastle United are hoping that Ghanaian striker Eddie Nketiah will travel to the northeast this weekend to complete a move from Arsenal, as PIF look to give Eddie Howe more firepower before Monday finishes.
The Magpies are scrambling to get a number of deals over the line before the deadline and, according to The Telegraph, Nketiah is one of the transfers they hope to close out quickly.
Nketiah is out of contract this summer with Arsenal, and hasn’t shown any sign of penning fresh terms in London.

There is no mention of a fee, but the report says Newcastle are hopeful of Nketiah arriving in the city this weekend to put the finishing touches to the transfer. Nketiah will follow ex-Arsenal teammate, Joe Willock, to St James’ Park.
Nketiah has been interesting Crystal Palace but so far, the Eagles have seen bids rejected. However, The Telegraph says Newcastle’s talks with Arsenal and Nketiah are progressing well, meaning a deal is likely.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta had been keen to keep Nketiah. But a lack of guarantees on minutes has seen the record England under-21 man seek a move away. Indeed, Areta even went as far as to label Nketiah an ‘extraordinary’ player not so long ago.
