Premier League runners-up Arsenal are preparing to part ways with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, who has endured a challenging season plagued by injuries.
Despite being a key player towards the end of the season, Partey’s future at the club is uncertain.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Partey’s departure is imminent, with Arsenal targeting Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi as potential replacements.
“Thomas [Partey] will leave. Arsenal has several players [targets] lined up, so there is a good chance they will bring in a new midfielder,” Romano revealed on the JD Football Show on YouTube.
Reports also suggest that Turkish clubs Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both interested in the 30-year-old.
Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has reportedly met with Partey, according to Turkish outlet Fotosport. However, Partey’s decision remains uncertain as he still has 12 months remaining on his Arsenal contract.
Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after the Gunners activated his £45 million release clause. This past Premier League season, he managed only 14 appearances, starting in nine, due to recurring injuries.
