With barely a month to the start of the African Cup of Nations, the suspension of the Turkish Super Lig could loom trouble for the Black Stars.
The suspension of the Turkish topflight means Black Stars dependable duo of Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku would be inactive and could possibly affect their form for the upcoming tournament.
Alexander Djiku who just returned from a long-term injury would be most hit by the suspension as he will need more playing time to get fit for the African Cup of Nation.
The former Strasbourg captain last appearance for Fenerbahçe was on October 26 against Ludogorets during the Europa Conference League clash before his returned to competitive action over the weekend against Besiktas.
Daniel Amartey has also been inconsistent due to injury after he signed for the Besiktas during the summer from relegated Leicester City.
Matches in all Turkish football leagues have been suspended indefinitely by its football association after a club president punched a referee at the end of a Super Lig match on Monday night.
