Ghana’s U-20 Women’s National Team, often known as the Black Princesses, defeated their Guinea Bissau counterpart 3-0 on Sunday.
The Ghanaian team, nicknamed the Black Princesses, faced the opponent for the first time today in the second round of African qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
The Black Princesses controlled the game in Bissau’s Estadio 24 de Setembro to secure the first-leg victory.
Success Ameyaa’s injury-time free kick goal gave Ghana a slender lead at the end of the first half.
Following the break, the Black Princesses proceeded to overwhelm their Guinea-Bissau rival, scoring two more goals.
At the end of 90 minutes, goals from Mary Amponsah and Mercy Atobra gave Ghana a 3-0 victory.
The Black Princesses will now travel to Ghana to prepare for the rematch, which is slated for Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
