Black Meteors goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim believes a lack of experience at major competitions with the squad contributed to them conceding two late goals against Congo.
Ghana beat Congo 3-2 in their opening game of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations but Ibrahim Tanko’s side was close to letting a three-goal lead slip.
After scoring three goals in the second half, the Black Meteors looked to be blowing their opponents away until the added time in the second half, where they conceded two goals to end the game 3-2.
Facing the press on Monday afternoon ahead of the second group game against Morocco, the Asante Kotoko goalkeeper revealed the players were not able to concentrate all game due to the lack of experience.
“After the game against Congo, all the players were not happy because of what happened and it’s normal. A lot of us have not got this kind of experience,” Danlad said.
“I know what can come when you lose concentration at some point. With the technical team, they will just bring everyone on board and know how to go in the next game.”
Ghana will look to book a place in the next stage of the competition when they face Morcco on Tuesday, June 27.
