Ghanaian attacker Gilbert Koomson climbed off the bench to help Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt defeat Celtic in the first leg of their Europa Conference League at the Celtic Park.

The 27-year old replaced forward Amahl Pellegrino in the 69th minutes as the away team thrash the hosts 3-1 to head into the second leg with a comfortable advantage.

Bodo/Glimt broke the deadlock after Runar Espejord set up Hugo Vetlesen to put the ball at the back of the net.

Amahl Pellegrino doubled the lead in the 55th minute before Celtic pulled one back through Daizen Maeda.

The hosts fought for the leveler but Bodo/Glimt took advantage of a poor defending by the hosts to restore their two-goal lead after Hugo Vetlesen netted with nine minutes remaining.

Koomson has made three appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League, having joined the club last summer.

Gilbert Koomson made 6 appearances in the Eliteserien before the season came to an end.
