Ghanaian forward, Kwadwo Opoku Mahala found the back of the net for CF Montreal as they played to a 1-1 draw against FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer action.
The 22-year-old started the match and contributed significantly before being substituted after 78 minutes of play. In the first half, despite creating several scoring opportunities, neither team managed to break the deadlock, leading to a goalless draw at halftime.
However, the Ghanaian international made an impact early in the second half, opening the scoring for the home team in the 53rd minute, courtesy of an assist from Lassi Lappalainen. CF Montreal appeared to be on their way to victory until Argentine international Luciano Acosta equalized for FC Cincinnati in stoppage time.
Opoku has now tallied three goals in seven appearances for Montreal during the current MLS season. Prior to joining Montreal, he scored twice in 19 games for Los Angeles FC.
