The Sekondi Essipong Sports Stadium isn’t what it used to be 14 years ago when Ghana hosted the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
After hosting some matches in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, it has become a sorry sight.
Despite claims by officials that it is seeing some renovation works and nearing completion, a recent aerial footage depicts otherwise.
There 20,000 seater capacity stadium has not seen major renovation works after the tournament.
The Essipong Stadium hosted the Group B games involving Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Mali and Benin and also the quarter-final game between Ivory Coast and Guinea.
