Gideon Kodua, a Ghanaian teen senation born in England, showcased his talent by scoring his first senior goal for West Ham United during a pre-season friendly against Boreham Wood.
The Hammers comfortably secured a 4-1 victory in the match.
In the closing minutes of the game, the 18-year-old striker made an impact by executing a brilliant goal. He controlled Jarrod Bowen’s lofted pass with his chest before volleying the ball into the back of the net. This impressive display highlighted his potential and skill as a young player.
Following his impressive performances in the West Ham Academy last season, where he earned the player of the year award, Kodua earned a place in the club’s pre-season training. He had an outstanding campaign as captain of the West Ham U18 team, leading them to 27 wins out of 32 matches. Their remarkable form secured the top spot in the U18 Premier League South and led to their fourth FA Youth Cup triumph in history.
