Gideon Kodua, a talented English-born Ghanaian teenager, made an impressive debut for West Ham United’s senior team during a pre-season friendly against Boreham Wood.
The 18-year-old substitute played a pivotal role as West Ham secured a convincing 4-2 victory. Kodua’s outstanding performances with the youth team earned him a spot in West Ham’s pre-season training, showcasing his potential for the upcoming season.
As a second-half substitute, he made an immediate impact by scoring the goal that sealed the win for the Hammers. Throughout the season, Kodua showcased his skills, captaining the West Ham U18 team to 27 victories out of 32 games.
This exceptional form led them to claim the top spot in the U18 Premier League South and clinch their fourth FA Youth Cup title. Impressively, Kodua contributed significantly to his team’s success with his goal-scoring abilities.
He netted a remarkable total of 16 goals across all competitions, including 12 in the U18 Premier League South. Notably, he displayed his talent with a magnificent 35-yard lobbed finish in the FA Youth Cup final, where West Ham triumphed with a resounding 5-1 victory over Arsenal.
