After signing for French Ligue 1 side Havre Athletic Club, Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew, has been introduced to fans of the club.
The introduction was done at half time in the game between Le Havre and AS Monaco in Week 12 of the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 season.
The game ended goalless but the high moment of the encounter was the introduction of the club’s new signing that got a standing ovation from the crowd gathered at the Stade Oceane.
Fellow Black Stars player Mohammed Salisu didn’t feature in the game as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
The soon to be 34 year old Ayew proceeded to wave to the fans acknowledging their presence after expressing being happy to join the team in a video posted on the club’s X (formerly Twitter) channel.
Ayew joins Le Havre at a time the Marines sit seventh in the 18 team league standings at the time of writing following a three month spell as a free agent.
He is expected to be fully involved in team activities on his return from international duties with Ghana as the Black Stars play Madagascar on November 17 and Comoros on November 21 in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
