Nigeria midfeilder Joe Aribo scored a ridiculous goal for Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
The 26-year-old departed Rangers this summer to join the English Premier League side in a £6million deal. And Aribo has wasted no time in showing the Saints support what he is capable of. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side were taking on La Liga giants in their final pre-season friendly of the season but Aribo stole the show with a remarkable individual goal.
The Nigerian international picked up the ball deep inside his own half before driving up the pitch. Aribo displayed his famous close-control to weave past four or five Villareal defenders as they lay stricken on the turf before showing fantastic composure to curl an effort into the back of net.
Aribo clearly enjoyed the virtuoso strike as he celebrated in front of the home fans and it was reminiscent of his famous goal for Rangers against Braga in the Europa League.
