During Wednesday night’s US Open Cup match, Yaw Yeboah, the Ghanaian forward, played for 45 minutes as Columbus Crew secured a resounding 5-1 victory over Loudoun.
The former captain of the Black Meteors started the Round 32 encounter of the Cup competition for his team.
Just six minutes into the first half, Yaw Yeboah seized an opportunity and unleashed an unstoppable shot, granting Columbus Crew an early lead.
His goal served as inspiration for his team, who went on to score four more goals before halftime. Sean Zawazdki extended the lead for the visitors in the 18th minute, followed by Isaiah Parente’s brace. Christian Ramirez added his name to the scoresheet in the 36th minute, putting the game out of reach for Loudoun.
Yaw Yeboah’s appearance in the game today was limited to 45 minutes, as he was substituted at halftime.
In the 5-1 victory for Columbus Crew, Loudoun managed to score a consolation goal through Kalil Elmedkhar from the penalty spot in the 86th minute.
