Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Vítor Pereira has been appointed as the new Head Coach of on an 18-month contract.
The 57-year-old Portuguese tactician arrives at Trentside with vast experience from Europe, Asia and South America, and his deal will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027.
Pereira began his coaching journey in Portugal in 2002 and steadily rose through the ranks before taking charge of in 2011. During his two-year spell, he guided the club to back-to-back league titles, cementing his reputation as a top-level manager.
He later had a successful stint with after moving to Greece in 2015, where he won both the league and domestic cup in the same season. His coaching journey also took him to Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli, Turkey with , and China with . In China, he made history by leading Shanghai SIPG to their first-ever league title in his debut season and followed it up with victory in the Chinese Super Cup.
Pereira also managed Brazilian giants and , further strengthening his résumé across different continents.
Most recently, he was in charge of in the English Premier League. Taking over when the club was battling relegation, he masterminded an impressive six-game winning streak — the longest run by any top-flight side last season — to steer Wolves to safety. That remarkable turnaround also saw the team register a club-record number of Premier League goals during the campaign.
Pereira now begins a new chapter with Nottingham Forest, aiming to bring his wealth of experience and winning mentality to the City Ground.
He will be supported by assistant coaches Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida and Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva, alongside Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura as Head of Physical Performance and Opposition Analysis, and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes as Opposition Analyst.
