President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has encouraged the Black Starlets to play with confidence in their third-place match against Nigeria in the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship on Tuesday.
The Ghana U17 team will face the Golden Eaglets without their head coach, Laryea Kingston, who has resigned. Despite this setback affecting the team’s morale, Okraku has urged the players to believe in themselves.
During his visit to the team on Monday evening, Okraku emphasized, “Let’s be focused on our next opponents, Nigeria. They are beatable. Just don’t panic when things are difficult. Just be relaxed and keep playing to your strengths and the best of your abilities: You will get there.”
He added, “Let’s never depart from how we have been taught to play. Let us stay together.”
The much-anticipated third-place match between Ghana and Nigeria will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
