The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, visited the Black Starlets to offer encouragement ahead of their crucial match against Nigeria.
The Ghana U17 national team is set to face Nigeria on Tuesday, May 28, in the third-place match of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
Ahead of this important game, Okraku urged the Starlets to have confidence in their abilities. Speaking to the team after his visit on Monday, he said, “There are lots of talents in this team. Let no one deceive you that you are not talents. I am the leader of football in this country and I have trust in this team.”
He further assured them of the Ghana FA’s support, saying, “And per the arrangements the FA has put in place, when you finish playing at Under-17 level, you will move to Under-18 to continue with your progressive development.”
Okraku also emphasized the importance of sticking to their training and playing style, advising the Black Starlets to “never depart from how they have been taught to play” and to stay united in their match against Nigeria.
The match will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
