Laryea Kingston, the head coach of Ghana’s Black Starlets, praised Ivory Coast following his team’s commanding 5-1 triumph in their inaugural match of the WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations tournament.
In a post-match interview, Coach Kingston emphasized the challenge posed by the Ivorian team, despite the significant margin of victory.
“It’s a joy. We have to enjoy. It wasn’t an easy game. The Ivorians are not an easy side. They made it difficult for us. We found it difficult to keep the game because of the way they play. I’m excited,” he urged Ghanaians, highlighting the quality of the opposition.
Reflecting on the match, Kingston acknowledged the difficulty posed by Ivory Coast’s style of play, expressing his satisfaction with the outcome.
“Now Ghanaians have to have fun because it’s a good win against a good side,” he concluded.
With the win secured, the Black Starlets are set to face Benin in their upcoming fixture at the WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations tournament.
