Police Ladies have missed out on a place in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas in the semi-finals of the WAFU B qualifiers.
The match was played at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, where the Ivorians took control just before halftime and scored again right after the break.
Habibou Ouedraogo made it three with a brilliant strike. Ghana’s Sarah Nyarko pulled one back — her second goal of the tournament — but ASEC quickly added a fourth to seal the win.
The loss means Police Ladies’ dream of reaching the continental stage has ended. They will now play in the third-place match on Friday, while ASEC move into the final and remain in the race for the Champions League ticket.
