Yunus Musah, the midfielder for the United States Men’s Soccer Team, proudly embraced his Ghanaian heritage in a video that marked his arrival at AC Milan.
Born to Ghanaian parents in New York, the 20-year-old spent his formative years in Italy before embarking on his football journey in England.
His footballing journey included a stint in Arsenal’s Academy, during which he even represented England at the youth level. Despite being eligible to play for Ghana and the English national team, Musah ultimately opted to don the colors of the USA.
With 27 senior appearances for the American team, he has notably contributed to their success, clinching two CONCACAF Nations League titles.
Musah’s meteoric rise in the world of football led him from Spain’s Valencia to the illustrious AC Milan, a club that boasts seven European championships. His announcement video not only celebrated this milestone but also showcased his parents’ journey from Ghana to the USA.
Overflowing with joy, Musah shared his sentiments: “I’m very happy, today my mouth is hurting from all the smiling. I don’t know what to say, I want to thank everyone. I will need to take time to understand what has happened. I’m just so happy,” he told the club’s media.
The former Valencia midfielder could soon make his debut in Serie A for AC Milan, possibly in the forthcoming match against Torino.
