Experienced defender Kofi Agbesimah has successfully finalized his transition to Hearts of Oak, having completed his mandatory medical examination in Accra on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Agbesimah’s commitment to Hearts of Oak is now official as he has inked a two-year contract, a result of fruitful negotiations between the parties involved.
The accomplished center-back’s arrival at Hearts of Oak follows a noteworthy five-year tenure with Bechem United, where he also held the esteemed position of team captain.
Despite attracting interest from various clubs within the domestic league, including Asante Kotoko, Agbesimah has ultimately chosen to join the ranks of the Phobians, a decision solidified through successful negotiations.
Agbesimah’s inclusion in the ranks of the rainbow club is set to fortify their defensive lineup, addressing the departure of reliable defenders such as Caleb Amankwah and Robert Addo.
This acquisition marks the latest addition to the roster of the Accra-based club, joining the likes of Michael Ampadu, Raphael Amponsah, Evans Adomako, Martin Karikari, Leventus Arthur, and Kelvin Osei Asibey, among others.
In the upcoming week, Agbesimah is expected to integrate with his fellow teammates during the pre-season phase. Under the guidance of newly appointed Dutch head coach, Martin Koopman, he will prepare for the forthcoming season set to kick off in September. This move signifies a new chapter in Agbesimah’s illustrious career, as he joins forces with Hearts of Oak to pursue excellence on the field.
