Bofoakwa Tano defender Andrews Kwadwo Appau is hopeful that his team will avoid relegation in the Ghana Premier League and clinch the FA Cup title.
Currently, the Sunyani-based club is in the relegation zone with 33 points, sitting in 17th position, with just four games remaining in the season. Despite their struggles in the league, Bofoakwa Tano has advanced to the FA Cup final for the first time in 38 years, where they will face Nsoatreman FC in the Bono derby at the University of Ghana Stadium in June.
In a recent interview, the former Asante Kotoko defender expressed his optimism about the team’s chances. “We pray we escape relegation and win the FA Cup title. We are preparing very well to secure the necessary points to ensure our stay in the league. Truth be told, we are very determined to avoid relegation. We have four games to end the season, and we want to win all points in those games to escape relegation,” Appau said.
Bofoakwa Tano is set to host Medeama at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday for matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League.
Appau, who rejoined Bofoakwa Tano before the start of the 2023/24 season after leaving Asante Kotoko, has made 17 appearances this season as the team fights to stay in the top flight.
