Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of their highly anticipated showdown against Bibiani Goldstars.
The Porcupine Warriors will host the second-placed Goldstars in a matchday 14 Ghana Premier League encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, December 27, 2024.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Coach Ogum acknowledged the strength of their opponents and the tactical challenge posed by Goldstars’ head coach, Frimpong Manso:
“Goldstars is a very big team with great players, and they have one of the most respected coaches in Frimpong Manso, whom I admire so much. He respects me, and I also hold him in high regard.”
Ogum anticipates an intense battle on the field, emphasizing the importance of preparation:
“I think it’s going to be a tactical game with a lot of aggression. The intensity will be high because both teams are determined to win. We’re ready, and we’ll structure our training program effectively to ensure we deliver on the day.”
Asante Kotoko head into the clash in 5th place on the league table with 24 points from 13 matches. Meanwhile, Bibiani Goldstars occupy 2nd position with 27 points and are aiming to maintain their title challenge.
