Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to secure victory against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the highly anticipated Super Clash this Sunday.
The two most storied clubs in Ghanaian football are set to face off at the Baba Yara Stadium on matchday 13 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Speaking to the media ahead of the showdown, Ogum highlighted his team’s positive mentality and thorough tactical preparation for the encounter.
“The mentality at training with the players, technical staff, and everyone is very positive, and we are very poised. Tactically, we are approaching the game based on how we’ve seen them play, especially in their away games,” Ogum stated.
He acknowledged the unique intensity of the rivalry, emphasizing that the team is prepared on all fronts.
“The dynamics are different in games between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak. We are very hopeful as technical staff. The players are prepared physically, tactically, and psychologically for the match,” he added.
Kotoko returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars in their previous league match and are looking to build on that momentum to climb the table.
Currently, Asante Kotoko sits seventh in the league standings with 18 points, just one point behind sixth-placed Hearts of Oak, making Sunday’s clash crucial for both sides as they vie for a stronger foothold in the title race.
The match kicks off at 3:00 PM at the iconic Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
