Asante Kotoko’s deputy captain, Justice Blay, has appealed to fans to remain patient and steadfast in their support for the team following two consecutive defeats in the Ghana Premier League.
The versatile midfielder played a key role on Sunday as the Porcupine Warriors faced a narrow 1-0 loss to Heart of Lions, adding to the disappointment of a 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities FC earlier in the week.
In a reflective post-match interview, Blay acknowledged the disappointment felt by supporters and took responsibility for the team’s recent shortcomings.
“We know there are no easy games once you play for Kotoko, and that’s why we must be ready for each match. The supporters did their part, but unfortunately, we fell short,” Justice Blay stated to the Asante Kotoko media team.
Despite these challenges, Blay emphasized the importance of unity and patience as the team aims to rebound from these losses.
“This defeat is on us, and we take full responsibility for our inability to react effectively. But now is the time to stay patient and support one another in the remaining games,” he urged.
