Ghana international Elisha Owusu says his teammates are excited and looking forward to playing in the French Ligue 2.
AJ Auxerre dropped to the second division after finishing 17th in the French top flight at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Auxerre will begin their 2023/24 season on Saturday, August 5, when they face Valenciennes away from home and Owusu has been speaking to the media ahead of the fixture.
“I feel good about the group. We worked well during the preparation and we can’t wait to start,” the Ghanaian said.
“There’s a good atmosphere, good cohesion between the old and the young. It’s great!”
The defensive midfielder is set to play in a competitive game for the first time this weekend after his season was cut short last campaign during the Coupe de France win over Champois Niortais in January.
